Special Issue Information

Dear colleagues,

Epigenetic mechanisms, such as DNA methylation, histone post-translational modifications, and chromatin structure regulation, play a crucial role in the interactions between tumor and immune cells. Emerging evidence indicates that tumors often exploit various epigenetic mechanisms to evade immune detection and suppression. Consequently, the pharmaceutical modulation of epigenetic regulators—including ‘writers’, ‘readers’, ‘erasers’, and ‘remodelers’—has the potential to restore impaired immunosurveillance and/or initiate antitumor immune responses. Thus, epigenetic targeting agents represent promising immunomodulatory drugs with significant impacts on immuno-oncology.

This special issue focuses on the cutting-edge research and technological advancements in the fields of cancer immunology, gene editing, and epigenetics. It aims to provide a comprehensive platform for scientists and clinicians to share their latest findings, discuss the challenges, and explore the future directions in these rapidly evolving areas. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Novel immunotherapeutic strategies and their clinical applications in cancer treatment
CRISPR/Cas9 and other gene editing technologies in cancer research and therapy
Epigenetic modifications and their role in cancer development and progression
Biomarker discovery and personalized medicine approaches in oncology
Combination therapies involving immunotherapy, gene editing, and epigenetic modulation
Mechanistic insights into tumor-immune interactions and resistance to therapy
Translational studies and clinical trials highlighting innovative cancer treatments

We invite researchers, clinicians, and scholars to contribute original research articles, reviews, case studies, and perspectives that address these key areas, with the goal of advancing our understanding and treatment of cancer.
